For some time now, I have debated, prayed, and attempted to enumerate all the wonderful reasons NOT to blog. There are so many out there in cyberspace. There are many more gifted writers and communicators; yet, God keeps bringing me back to the place of trusting His purposes. He continues to beckon me out of my comfort zone; to step out in faith; and to trust that He can use even a broken, sinner such as myself to be a conduit of His grace and mercy. Life is a struggle; and C.S. Lewis reminds us that we were made for another world. Until home, God often allows our props to be derailed to the point of utter dependence on the Only One who can calm the storm and the Only One who can truly rescue us. He often ushers us to the point of collapse.
Let’s look at Webster’s definition of collapse: “to fall down or inward suddenly” or “to break down suddenly in strength or health and thereby cease to function.” So basically the collapse comes from outside forces usually bearing down upon a person or thing with the intention of change. God often ushers us to the point of collapse, a fresh surrender to His plan for our lives. What is your form of collapse? A health scare. A wayward child. A death of a loved one. A cancer diagnosis. A divorce. A bad marriage. A dream unfulfilled. A nagging longing. A heart in lockdown. Oh, whatever form of the forces placed on our lives, He lovingly asks us to trust. Trust in the GRACE that HE can provide just what is needed, nothing more and nothing less.
Let’s heed God’s call to collapse in grace and sing loudly of His graces right here in our everyday lives. So, I open up this space to share, to struggle, to think out loud, to process on paper for the mere reason: we, humans, need each other. We have much to learn from each others’ struggles, knowing that each journey is unique. Sometimes, I will mess up in sharing so please just grant me grace. My prayer is to show up for you in hopes that we all will see Jesus a little more clearly and that we would reflect His amazing light wherever He has placed us.
Let’s hope this blog isn’t just another blog but a sacred spot to relax and wrestle in His irresistible grace! Let’s collapse in grace, His grace!
